Party Poker.com

PartyPoker.com and PartyPoker.net

Party Poker, because of its popularity and high traffic, offers all types of poker games from No Limit Texas Holdem through to pot limit and fixed limit. Party Poker also offers Omaha and Stud (high and hi-lo) in both ring games and tournaments. These games are available in a range of wager limits, from $0.10/$0.25 ($0.05/$0.10 for Limit) right up to $100/$200 fixed limit. The traffic at Party Poker, as mentioned, is steady and reliable. This means that even during off-peak times of the day you can find your game of choice at the limit that suits you.

The majority of traffic at Party Poker is the low to mid-limit games, common among higher profile poker rooms -- but Party Poker is also of the best sites for high rollers who are looking to play $20/$40 limit and above. Not only are there always multiple games running, but multiple games at multiple wager levels. No limit players can find hundreds of games at all limits up to $10/$20, which is the highest no limit game available on Party Poker.

Some new features are worth checking out if you have visited the Party Poker online cardroom in the past and were not wowed.

PartyPoker.net offers a good practice platform for beginers who are not ready to play with real money. To learn how to qualify for free PartyPoker chips and to find out more about Party Poker.com visit our other PartyPoker articles.

PartyPoker Software Features

Newly added Table resizing features allow players to better manage multiple games at the same time. Existing features such as Player Search, options to turn animation and characters on or off, plus the ability to add notes on players remain, and this gamer is grateful. The notes feature is particularly useful when encountering that one friend of yours who is constantly draining your cashflow.

Party Poker Play Anywhere

PartyPoker.com also has a feature known as Play Anywhere. This system allows online play without the need to download and install programs. Play is essentially the same, though in my experience it was quite a bit slower and many features were missing. I was unable to access Poker Trainer and Table resize, though I'm assuming they were removed to maximize available bandwidth for the non Play Anywhere members.

The Rake at Party Poker.com

There has been some bellyaching about the rake at Party Poker. To demystify the situation, I've listed the rake as far as can be determined.

  • Up to $0.50/$1, $0.05 per $1 up to a maximum of $1.
  • $0.50/$1 to $1/$2 with pot size of $5, $12 and $20, rakes at a maximum of $0.50, $0.75 and $1 respectively.
  • $2/$4 to $30/$60 raked through to a maximum of $3.
  • $50/$100 and above raked through to a maximum of $5.

No limit and pot limit games:

  • Up to $0.10/$0.25, $0.05 per $1 to a maximum of $3.
  • Above $0.10/$0.25, $0.05 per $1 ranging from a maximum of $1 to $3, dependent on number of players.
  • $25/$50 Blinds and above; $0.05 per $1 to a maximum of $2 for 2 – 3 players, up to a maximum of $5 for 4 – 10 players.
Because of their reputation as a 'Party' brand, Party Poker has become the poker room to be seen in, if you pardon the expression. Even in the middle of the day players will find upwards of 10,000 players online, and this number obviously increases during peak times.

Party Poker Lobby

Party Poker has a new and expanded lobby system -- basically, they've added advanced table filters so you can find the exact ring game or tournament you are looking for. Want a full ring game? You can find it. What about shorthanded, small or big buyin, standard or turbo speed – you get it at Party Poker. New blind structures and greater chip startoffs have led to faster performance. Time based Sit'n'Go's and easier Tournament buyins make Party Poker one of the most desirable online poker rooms for tournament players.

iGlobal Media Software

With the high amount of traffic Party Poker experiences, the software needs to be of the highest caliber, and it is. Averaging close to 10,000 players daily, iGlobalMedia (the company behind the Party Poker software) has done a great job of adding new features while maintaining integrity. The software upgrades are handled at the Party Poker.com card room without it becoming a pain for the customers. With a combination of solid features, new upgrades and a large field of players, you can find pretty much the online poker game you're looking for at Party Poker.
