Play Winning Poker.com is one of the oldest poker sites on the net. In fact the site was actually created by Al Gore 20 years ago when he invented the internet (just kidding). Seriously though, this website has been around forever – at least since 2000. Everywhere you go, there’s a link to playwinningpoker.com.
Steve Badger - PlayWinningPoker.com
It’s run by a poker player named Steve Badger who has apparently had some pretty decent success in the poker world. Based upon his accomplishments and well-written articles, Mr. Badger appears to have a strong understanding of poker theory.

If you know where to look, the site has a ton of poker information. It wouldn’t look like it based upon the looks of the site, but there are some surprisingly advanced strategy articles hosted there.
To be brutally honest, PlayWinningPoker.com is probably one of the ugliest poker sites out there. The navigation is a little confusing as well so it will take a little digging to find the good stuff. Once you can get past the 1995 look though, there are a ton of informative articles for your reading pleasure.
The easiest way to get started is to click on the “what’s new” link on the top left corner of the front page. From there you can navigate your way through a whole bunch of articles. Down towards the bottom right hand corner of the front page there is an “RGP Posts” link that contains some super informative theory discussions. You could easily spend a couple hours reading through everything within those two links alone.

Some of the categories from Play Winning Poker.com include poker math, psychology, the history of the World Series of Poker, an entire section on how to play from the blinds, internet vs. live poker, poker site reviews and many other categories.
The articles are all well written and easy to read. They get into all the advanced strategy but at the same time word it clearly so that people of all skill levels can benefit. The quality of writing is probably one of the biggest advantages Play Winning Poker has over all the other strategy sites out there.
PlayWinningPoker Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo
In addition to the hold ‘em content, there’s a good amount of Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo strategy available. On top of that there is a glossary of poker terms, a list of poker hands, and a list of some of the more popular poker variants. There is also a directory listing the names and phone numbers of every casino in the 50 states.
Unfortunately there are no forums to be found at PlayWinningPoker.com. It’s a shame there isn’t considering how many visitors this site must get every day. In fact, the site has been translated into 14 different languages.
No matter what language you speak, give this website a look. With all the free strategy available, it would be a waste not to check the place out. And even though it’s a little on the ugly side, Play Winning Poker more than makes up for it in its large collection of strategy articles.
