World Series of Poker.com Review
WorldSeriesofPoker.com Website Review
Despite the fact that WorldSeriesofPoker.com is devoted to such a specific topic, there is a ton of content there. The front page gets straight to the good stuff with a slideshow of event pictures, a TV listing of all the channels and events of all the WSOP shows, a list of dates, times and places of WSOP events, and an updated player of the year tally. And that’s just on the front page!
To get more details on the events, just click on the “WSOP Circuit” link at the top. There you can find tourney names, dates, locations and structures. There is also a section devoted to European WSOP events with all the same information there.
World Series of Poker.com Player Blogs
For fans of the big names, the blogs of Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and Jeffery Pollack are all hosted at worldseriesofpoker.com. Phil and Daniel’s blogs aren’t exactly updated everyday but it’s pretty cool that their blogs are actually video blogs. If you want to meet them in real life, you can sign up for the WSOP Academy through the link along the top of the page. There Phil, Greg Raymer and others will teach the ins and outs of tournament play.
If you already know it all, there is a link to the left of the WSOP academy that will let you make reservations for this year’s WSOP. It’s a handy tool because it will help you pick the hotel, it lists the rates for the nights, and even automatically give you a rebate on the hotel when you register for any of the World Series of Poker events. Very nice.
WorldSeriesofPoker.com Videos
Click on the “TV and Video” link and you’ll find a ton of videos in categories ranging from tournament highlights to interviews and even the “Talkin’ Trash Archives.” Check the videos out when you get a moment – chances are you’ll find something that tickles your fancy.
One of the coolest things I found at the site was the photo section. I thought it would just have event photos to browse through but it was actually a whole lot more than that. The link opened up a separate site dedicated to pictures of last year’s WSOP. There you could pick an event, pick a table and then find your photo at the table. It looks someone methodically took pictures of every player at every event. The site then sells prints and products featuring your very own WSOP photo. I thought that was an innovative idea.
WSOP Forums
The WSOP forums are actually hosted on a different website but they are pretty solid. There are enough members and activity to make the forum worth a registration.
If you’re into the tournament scene, WorldSeriesOfPoker.com is the site to go to. With all the content there, it would be easy for any tournament buff to spend a few hours wading through it all. Check the place out sometime and reserve a spot for it in your favorites; it won’t disappoint.
