PokerStars Download
New players at Pokerstars can follow these 5 simple steps to sign up for an account. I've also included other important account information for new Poker Stars gamblers.
Step 1 – You can download Pokerstars software by using this Pokerstars Download link. Pokerstars.com software download also offers a Macintosh compatible version.
Step 2 – After the Pokerstars.com software download has been made, you will then be prompted to save the file and run it. The file is relatively small, so it should only take a few minutes for the Pokerstars.com software download to complete and install.
Step 3 – Once the installation is complete, the lobby should open immediately. While you can now view the files, you’ll still need to open an account to fully enjoy the Pokerstars site. To do so, provide the requested information and choose a username. Avoid picking a name you’ll hate later, as this cannot be changed.
Step 4 – You’ll next be directed to a page which asks how you heard about Pokerstars. At the same time, you will also be asked for the Pokerstars marketing code. The marketing code information will determine the bonus you’ll receive when you become a cash money player. To receive the top bonus of 100% matching funds up to $50, be sure and enter TOP5POKER. A few hidden benefits are also included when you use this code. Click on the Pokerstars marketing code link for additional details.
Step 5 – Once you’ve completed the PokerStars download and registration process, you can either make a deposit directly with the cashier or use one of the other available methods. American players will be happy to note that Pokerstars is once again accepting eChecks (instant deposit method).
There’s also good news for customers looking to play for fun. The marketing code you entered will be saved, so you can still receive that generous bonus if you ever decide to play for cash.
PokerStars Poker Software Download
Pokerstars Software offers plenty of above-the-fold features. These include:
Themes/Avatars
Pokerstars software gives players more control over their games by letting them select avatars and backgrounds directly from their own computer hard drive. This is very easy to do and usually only takes a couple of minutes.
Exercise good sense when choosing your avatar, as you will not be able to change it later. If you would prefer not to select your own background or avatar, a number of pre-made designs are waiting for you in the lobby menu under “Requests.“
Note Taking on Your Opponents
You will be provided with an easy-to-use notetaking system, which is available within the chat box at each table. There is a drop-down menu for each of the players seated at the game table, and you can make individual notes on some or all of them. This information will then be saved for future use.
Statistics
Statistics are available in both the lobby and at the tables. The Pokerstars.com lobby provides you with information such as: percentage of players who are seeing the flop, average pot size, number of hands played, hands dealt per hour and player chip stack.
Pokerstars will also provide you with your own statistics within each game (both tournament and cash games). This allows you to quickly determine how often you are seeing a flop and in what position.
If you would like to analyze your hand history, simply click “Requests” within the lobby menu and then “Hand History.” From there, you can request that your tournament and cash game hands be emailed directly to you. To make things even better, Pokerstars software is also compatible with the respected Poker Tracker software.
Multi-Tabling
This is one of the best sites for multi-table players, as you can participate in as many as eight cash games simultaneously and an unlimited number of tournaments. A resizing tool is available to keep you from constantly having to switch between screens, and every table also has the ability to increase or decrease in size.
To set the resize tool, simply click any edge of your game and drag down. The tables will shrink to 1.6 times the default size, and you can then experiment to find the size that’s right for you. Once you’ve found your perfect layout, you can then choose to save it along with your preferred seating.
Table Focus Choices
If you are a multi-table player, then you’ve no doubt noticed how frustrating the popup windows can be. Whenever one of your tournaments is about to start, or it’s your turn at another table, the pop-up windows jump onto the screen and get right in your face. Luckily the PokerStars software has a function where you can adjust the pop-up windows. Look for this feature under 'Advanced Multi-table setting" in the PokerStars software menu.
