Pokerstars 2008 WSOP Satellites & Qualifiers
Pokerstars has started their highly anticipated satellites and qualifiers for the WSOP Main Event, which is scheduled to take place in July at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. This leading online poker room has guaranteed to make its presence known at the World Series of Poker, and they are accomplishing this by sending more players than any other gaming room online. That’s good news for PokerStars customers, as it means they’ll have more chances to qualify for the WSOP than anyone else.

Use Marketing Code "TOP5POKER" to get a100% matching bonus all the way up to $50. This offer is only good for new Pokerstars.com customers.
In addition to offering more seats at the WSOP, PokerStars has also increased the number of ways you can win a seat. In fact, you now have three main choices with Pokerstars:
- Buy-in directly to any of the cash qualifiers.
- Use your Frequent Player Points in the FPP qualifiers.
- Work your way up to the Main Event through the Step Sit & Go Satellites.
Pokerstars 2008 WSOP Packages Include:
- A $10,000 buy-in to the 2008 WSOP Main Event, plus an eight-night stay at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada from July 2nd - July 9th. If you’re fortunate enough to still be in the WSOP after your 8-night stay is up, Pokerstars will continue to pay for your hotel expenses until you either win the tournament or get eliminated. You will also receive transportation services to and from the Rio on a daily basis, along with $2,000 in spending money. All total, this package is worth over $12,000.
- Pokerstars has also stacked the prize package with a ton of incentives. This includes an extra $50,000 cash to any player who qualifies through Pokerstars and is seen on television wearing Pokerstars gear. Any player who makes it to final table will also be paid a sum of $1,000,000 US, regardless of whether they win the event or not.
- Pokerstars will also be upgrading the hotel suites of Supernova or Supernova Elite VIP members free of charge. This is part of the Poker Stars VIP player rewards program.
How to Win a Seat to the WSOP with Pokerstars
To win a seat, you’ll need to enter one of the many satellite tournaments scheduled to take place at the Poker Stars website. This can be accomplished through direct buy-ins or by qualifying (the same way Chris Moneymaker won his seat). Qualifiers cost as little as $2, and you may also use your frequent player points instead of cash. Tournaments are scheduled around the clock, and many often start within minutes of one another.
In addition to the standard multi-table satellites, Pokerstars is also offering seats through Step Tournaments. Instead of playing against thousands of opponents, you‘ll only be pitted against nine, just like in a regular Sit & Go tournament. If you win, you move on to the next level.
If you finish 2nd or 3rd in a Step Tournament, Pokerstars will also credit your account with an entry to try that level again. This comes in particularly handy when you make it to level 3 or 4. Winning the final stage awards the player with a Main Event Package, and there are six levels in all (with the first one costing only $7.50).
Pokerstars Cash Satellites
The cash satellites provide seven different ways to qualify, including the Australian and European satellites and the Weekly High Roller events. Cash satellites run daily with a minimum buy-in of $2. If you would rather get in directly without having to play multiple qualifiers, you can also buy-in to the Weekly European, Weekly Main Event, Weekly Australian, or Weekly High Roller Qualifier. The cost for doing so will range between $475 and $1,050.
Pokerstars Step Sit and Go Qualifiers
Just to reiterate, these tournaments are always played with only 9 players, and you’ll be provided with additional entry coupons if you fall short of first place. Step Sit & Go qualifiers start at $7.50 or 500 FPPs.
Pokerstars FPP Satellites
This is the time of the year to put those frequent player points to good use. You can redeem them for entry into various qualifiers, and, with as little as 40 FPPs, you could be playing in the main event satellite.
